Rioja has become a major wine region for UK sales. Approximately 37% of all Rioja sales is to the UK.

Bodegas El Coto own around 250 hectares of vineyards in Rioja, located in Cenicero, Ausejo and El Villa.  The predominant grape varieties planted are Tempranillo for the reds and Viura for the white.

The company has re-invested heavily over the past five years. Much of this investment has gone into the expansion of the winery as well as keeping up to date with the best technology available to the winemaking team.  El Coto has some of the strictest quality control systems in Europe.  The company recently rejected almost 5 million corks as they did not meet the company's exacting standards!
